The lecture is devoted to the theory and applications of a class of integro-differential equations arising in population dynamics. We will discuss existence, stability, and nonlinear dynamics of travelling wave solutions of this equations, and the properties of the corresponding integro-differential operators. We will apply these results to the theory of speciation including the emergence of biological species in the process of evolution.
